FAQs

How does this site work?
Kycyclesalvage.com is providing the general public a unique opportunity to compete with dealers to bid on insurance auctioned motorcycles. If you are the highest bidder, Kycyclesalvage will attempt to acquire the vehicle on your behalf once the proper deposit has been paid according to the terms and conditions.
I was the highest bidder, why didn’t I win?
Remember, you are bidding against dealers. The dealer bids are not represented on our website. If you are the high bidder on this website, but not at the insurance company, we will tell you the final selling price. Once the dealer auction has taken place, you will not get another chance to change your bid.
I’ve seen the same bike on here before?
On occasion, the insurance company will have a set price(reserve) on a particular motorcycle. If the reserve is not met, the insurance company will not sell the motorcycle to the highest bidder. As a result, the bike will be re-listed on a future auction.
Can I come and inspect the bike?
No. These motorcycles are located at various insurance company locations across the country. The general public is not allowed access to the dealer yard. All the information we have is what is listed on our website. All vehicles are sold as-is. We cannot guarantee any of the information to be correct, as Kycyclesalvage.com does not get the opportunity to inspect the motorcycles.
When can I pick up my motorcycle?
You will have up to 4 business days (auction day plus 4 days) after the sale to pick up your vehicle.
Can I pick my motorcycle up on the weekend?
Only vehicles located in Richmond KY can be picked up on the weekend by appointment only
Where can I pick up the bike if you acquire the bike on my behalf?
Pick up locations vary. Please refer to the description of each vehicle for pick-up locations.
How much is the deposit?
$500 or 15% of your final bid, whichever is greater.
Why am I required to pay a deposit?
Kycyclesalvage.com does not own the bikes that you (the bidder) bid on. If Kycyclesalvage.com wins an insurance auction on behalf of the high bidder on this site, we will purchase the bike. The deposit ensures the winning bidder on our site is serious about purchasing the motorcycle we bought for them.
If I have the high bid on more than one bike that ends on the same day, will I have to pay more than one deposit?
Yes: The required deposit is only valid per bike. Please call or email if you are a high volume buyer. We have other deposit options available for those who qualify.
How do I pay through Pay-Pal or Western Union / Money Gram?
The Pay-Pal address for deposits is adam@kycyclesalvage.com.
If you are paying via Western Union or Money Gram please address to: Adam McDaniel, Richmond, KY 40475.
How long does it take to get my deposit back?
Pay-Pal, Western Union and cash deposits are currently refunded within 2 - 10 business days.
How is the starting bid determined
The starting bid is usually set at a fraction of the actual value of the bike. In almost all cases the actual sale price of the bike will be much higher than the starting bid. Kycyclesalvage.com does not attempt to dictate to the bidders what to bid. We want the bidders to drive the value of the bikes.
Can I pay when I pick up the bike?
Yes.
Why can't I pay at the salvage yard?
Yes.
Can I look at other vehicles at the salvage yard?
Generally the salvage yard will not let the transporters or the public on the lot for liability reasons. Please do not bug the office staff about this rule!!! In the event they let you on the lot to load your vehicle, you may have an opportunity to view other vehicles that may be available on future auctions. Please do not wander away from your vehicle, as this is a direct violation of yard rules, and you could be banned from the yard for future pick-ups.
Will the salvage yard help me load my vehicle?
Yes, they will load your vehicle in your truck or trailer. Most often, they will use a fork lift.
How can I search for a vehicle by state?
Click in the "Search" tab and type in the city name from the locations list provided on that page.
What time zone does this website operate under?
Eastern Standard Time
What happens if I fail to pay the required deposit?
Habitual offenders risk suspension.
Do you bid "up to" my bid amount?
Yes! If you bid $3,000.00, and your bid is $2,000.00 at the auction, you will win the item for the lesser amount.
Do you charge any fees?
KYCycleSalvage.com adds 5% or $300.00, whichever is greater to the final selling price.
How do I know you are really selling to me at the at the actual auction price?
